Applications
This linear guide rail is designed for light loads in applications requiring a very small footprint, such as small covers or housings for machine protection.
Recommended operating temperatures are -20 to 100°C.
Avoid installing these guides in applications subject to severe vibration, as this may result in rapid matting of the profiles by the balls. Please consult us.
This type of product does not withstand torque loads well, so ensure that the load is balanced under one or more pads, if necessary.
This product can be used as a translational guide, a guide bar or rod, a suspended rail, a handling rail, a door rail, a horizontal guide or a vertical guide such as a guillotine type guide.
Manufacturing
Chambrelan manufactures this guide rail on the basis of galvanised steel profiles. The rail is supplied as standard with a white zinc coating, with an average thickness of 12 microns, which offers excellent resistance to salt spray tests. The runner is nitrided.
The rail has pinned stops with rubber at each end.
The balls are made of 100C6 chrome steel. It is lubricated with standard bearing grease.
Chambrelan specialises in the design and manufacture of telescopic ball bearing slides and guide rails for industrial applications: reinforced slides, linear slides, ball bearing guides, rolling guides, metal runners in steel, aluminium, stainless steel with locking, blocking and in full extension, partial extension, double stroke or super extension for heavy duty industrial drawers, mechanical panels.
Maintenance
As standard, our slides are delivered lightly greased from the factory. We use a high pressure bearing grease for steel slides, and a white grease for aluminium and stainless steel slides. On request, we can use a food grade grease (clean room compatible), a high temperature grease, a teflon free grease (paint booths) or a greaseless assembly (although we do not recommend this).
A food grade grease, combined with stainless steel balls, offers an economical alternative to all stainless steel slides.
Options
Manual locking system
It does not currently have any internal locking option.
Surface treatments
Other treatments providing higher resistance are also possible. Please contact us.
Nitriding is also possible to increase the service life of the slide during intensive use, or to improve resistance to brinelling in case of strong vibrations.
Assembly with stainless steel balls
It can be assembled with stainless steel balls to obtain very high corrosion resistance, which in some cases may offer a cost-effective alternative to stainless steel slides.
Use at high temperature (oven type)
This model can be used in high-temperature environments up to 250°C. However, some adaptations are required:
- mounting clearance to allow expansion of the elements without blocking the slide
- use high-temperature grease
- remove all plastic elements
These adaptations must be carried out in our factory. It is therefore important to notify us when requesting a quotation and to allow for manufacturing lead time.
Zinc plating deteriorates from 120°C; we can propose other solutions.
Standard modification
- Custom lengths and strokes
- Custom drilling pattern
- Other surface treatments (corrosion, hardness)
- Vertical mounting (guillotine type)
